Submission expert Carlos Rocha takes on the young & the experienced Jake Ellenberger in this welterweight match-up.
Jake Ellenberger, who's only 25 years old, will have experience on his side. He's very confident in his wrestling. He shoots in for the takedown, gets control and has good ground-and-pound. Wrestling is a dominant part of his game and he's likely to go that route.
Carlos Eduardo Rocha, 2nd UFC fight has huge momentum on his side. He's won 9 straight bouts, inlcluding his debut against Kris McCray. Rocha is extremely talented brazillian jiujitsu artist, he had submitted 8 out of the 9. If taken down my Ellenberger, will he be able to keep his composure and sneak in a submission? I'm kind of on the fence here…
I think Ellenberger not only has experience (against opponents of many styles) but also with the UFC environment. I see him shooting in for the takedown and keeping Rocha under his control - while avoiding any submission attempts.
Saying so, I'm taking ELLENBERGER VIA DEC.
