NHL PLAYOFFS: Series: TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING (3) - BOSTON BRUINS (3)

GAME 7:  Lightning @ Bruins

Tampa Bay and Boston will battle it out on the ice tonight in Game 7.  Winner here will see the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL Stanley Cup Finals.

Dallas Mavericks Silence OKC Thunder

Watched the NBA West Conference Game 4. With OKC winning 10+ baskets I figured this one was done. I thought it was a comfortable enough lead. Thank goodness I PVR-ed the game, otherwise I would've missed out on the Mavericks comeback.

The Frankie Edgar Gray Maynard Trilogy Postponed

Due to injuries to both fighters, we'll have to wait another 6-8 weeks to see this fight happen. Read more about Edgar and Maynard's situation here.

So instead, UFC130 will now be headlined by Rampage Jackson and Matt Hamill. I guess I'm okay with this considering what Rampage said in a recent interview about wanting to do movies more than actually fighting in the UFC.  Is that a little bit of an insight as to how serious he's taking his training?

Thiago Alves and Rick Story bout will now be moved up to the main PPV card.  I remember Rick Story's submission against Brian Foster as though it was yesterday.  Perhaps its because Foster's full name is an exact of my friend's husbands name.  Either way Rick Story has been on a winning streak, but I would say Thiago has had the tougher opponents.

Either way, with the sudden drop of the main event and with Rampage, Matt, Thiago and Rick stepping up UFC 130 still has the opportunity to be worth the ppv purchase.

Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley; Thoughts?

On Saturday, May 7 2011, Manny Pacquiao will step into the ring across Shane Mosley.  The excitement is pumping into Las Vegas as many await to see if Mosley will be able to triumph over Pacquiao. Many Pacman supporters praise the boxer as being the greatest fighter to step into the ring since Mohammed Ali. While others are showing a hint of worry.

Is it possible?  Could Shane Mosley be the first man to upset the current WBO Welterweight Champion?  Since September 2006, Manny Pacquiao has been consistently in the ring no more than six months between each fight.  Tasting sweet victory 13 consecutive times.  However, in his last two fights Pacquiao failed to get a finish, instead giving the matches to the judges.  Could it be that he's reached his peak?  Will he have enough in him to give an aggressive fight against Mosley -who's been out of the ring for a year in recovery and training mode since his loss to Mayweather, Jr.?

I believe that accuracy in their strikes and counters will be key.  Both fighters have had their share of success, but with these two anything is possible.  I doubt this fight will go the distance.  I just see no way either fighter will want to take that kind of punishment from each other for 12 rounds.  You have Pacquiao with a heavy plate; to win not only for himself or his fans, but for his country.  You got Mosley as the underdog, who has the chance to pull off one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.

No big deal.

Either way, this fight should prove to be exciting... each and every round.  I don't see either man holding back.

Karate Kid: Lyoto Machida @ UFC 129

After losing to Shogun & Rampage, Lyoto Machida was able to knock out veteran Randy Couture in Hollywood fashion.  It was unreal to think the Crane kick could be used in unstaged combat.. but it was perfectly executed.  Couture is now in retirement and as for Machida... They hype around him is surging through the MMA world.  Legendary.
