Floyd Mayweather, Jr. to fight in May?

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. was sentenced to 3 months in jail for his guilty plea to one charge of felony battery and two counts of harassment (which he pleaded no contest) against his ex-girlfriend and verbal threats against their two children.

Instead of being hauled off to jail, Mayweather's attorney asked Las Vegas Judge Melissa Saragosa to delay the start of the sentence.  Looks like that wish was granted.

Turns out Mayweather needs time to train and prepare for his May 5, 2012 fight against an unknown opponent.  Many people are expecting to see World Boxing Organization Welterweight Champion Manny Pacquiao as his prime competitor.  Will it happen?

I doubt it.  Regardless of Mayweather receiving the postponement, of  the amount of time he has to commit, promote and prepare for any upcoming fight.  The chances of him fighting Pacquiao is much or less the same as it has always been... slim to none.

What does that mean for boxing fans around the world?  For the boxing industry?  For all those that could potentially benefit (whether directly or indirectly) from such a fight?

You'll get to see the fight, play it out - over and over again.... In Your Dreams.
