@trinidypicks: Dan Henderson vs. Jon Jones; #UFC151

Sept 1, 2011 - Dan Henderson vs. Jon Jones

After tomorrow's UFC150, we will have to wait almost a three weeks for our next mma fix. It will most likely be the first card I won't be able to watch as I will be basking in the sun out in the ocean somewhere; I pray for sunshine!

Unfortunately the main event is one that I yearn to watch LIVE.  By live, I mean .. IN PERSON! Why? because.....

Dan Henderson... mr. Hendo - NO, NOT BENDO! (that copycat!) - HENDO!

Mention this guy to me against anyone and who do I pick?  Obvious?!!!

I can't believe that this fight is going down when I'm away. What's worst is that I'm not even 'away' to go watch the event!  I started watching Hendo during his pride days and he's one fighter I will never go against.

By far my most FAVOURITE, MEMORABLE, PROUDEST MOMENT was when he defeated Fedor Emelianenko in 2011.  I loved it! I have a picture of my TV screen of him on top of the cage with his hands raised.  Beautiful.

... and now, I won't be able to see this fight?!  Such. Bad. Luck.

So I'm putting it out there... I want HENDO TO WIN.  To beat Jones in outstanding fashion -via Knockout.

I could see it now, Jones is clinging onto the belt now like never before.  "Hendo beat Fedor.  Can I beat Fedor?  this isn't looking to good... uh-oh..."

Hendo is looking at this like.... "Finally my chance to raise what's rightfully mine.. UFC GOLD!"

It was unfortunate that Hendo had both his Pride championships unified into the UFC and ended up handing victories to Anderson Silva and Rampage Jackson.  But now is the time.  He beat Fedor Emelianenko for goodness sake!  The Last freaking EMPEROR!!!!!

LOL .. okay now I'm getting all worked up!  Let's hope that Hendo gets a KO - shall we?  I know I will.

Spent the weekend hanging with my girl Jho-jho.  Had a blast!

"Kobe Bryant said WHAT?!?" #michaelvskobe

Headlining News:

A question for the ages:

Michael Jordan vs. Kobe Bryant.  really? REALLY?

and the challenger.  Bryant. 13th pick round one. Pro-Career: 1996-present (16 years)
KOBE BRYAN'T'S STATS

and the reigning champion. JORDAN. 3rd pick round one. Pro-Career: 1984 - 2003 (19 years)

MICHAEL JORDAN'S STATS

A little room for discussion?

So Jordan played pro basketball for a total of 19 years.  Bryant is currently at 16.  Which then results in the fact that in 3 years time, Bryant will never surpass the Jordan's career achievements.  Albeit there are some highlights that Bryant has a chance at.  But, the overall success that Jordan has reached throughout his entire career is something that Bryant will be unable to compete with.

BESIDES... JORDAN ALSO PLAYED MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL FOR BIRMINGHAM BARONS - aff(il) Chicago White Sox - while on his first retirement run.  How awesome is he?

#UFC147: Rich FRANKLIN vs Wanderlei SILVA

UFConFX-4 was disappointing.

- although.... I did come out getting 2for4, I'm still left with a aggravation I just can't shake.  Yes, I'm talking about the main event: Gray Maynard's attempt to fight Clay Guida.

Seriously! What the heck went wrong?  On paper this fight looked to be a great main event.  Somehow it managed to reduce itself to nothing more than a really lame fight.

Okay, so I'm being a little hard on Guida. Let's be clear, he still will remain as one of my favourite fighters in UFC. However, it would be nice if next fight he brought back the Guida that fought Ben Henderson (on UFC on Fox).  I can only wait and see.

I do think that this fight set him back a few steps and he'll have to regain Dana White's respect again after such a lacklustre performance.

UFC 147 : RICH FRANKLIN VS. WANDERLEI SILVA

Now here's two fighters that after such a poor showing at UFConFX, won't allow for it to happen during their main event in Brazil!  These two are old school.  Fighters with massive hearts for the sport. It would be surprising if they swayed away from their reputations but who knows what will happen?

I just hope that Rich Franklin hangs in there long enough to damage and slow down Wanderlei Silva.  Who hopefully in turn will go 'Ax Murderer' on Rich and attack in full force and land that one knockout punch.  Essentially, this fight should be good.  So here's to hope!

ADDITIONAL POST:

Great... 10 days until the next UFC event. I'm in desperate need of another 'fight fix' ... pun INTENDED!  Bahaha, I STILL CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT PACQUIAO LOST on Saturday. That is the epitome of of the phrase:  Don't Leave It To The Judges.

On June 22nd(UFConFX) and June 23rd(UFC147), I expect to see a few knockouts.  Lots of birds destined to be flying around in the ring that weekend.

my predictions.

UFC on FX
Ross Pearson/Cub Swanson ... I'd like for Pearson to have a KO here in his featherweight debut.
Brian Ebersole/TJ Waldburger ... Ebersole has been undefeated since 2008, 10 straight wins. TJ Waldburger walking in with 2 straight.  Ebersole KO here.
Sam Stout/Spencer Fisher ...  Go Canada Go! Sam Stout to win decision
Gray Maynard/Clay Guida ... I've said it before, I'll say it again... I'm such a Clay Guida Fan!  So I definitely want him to come out victorious and set us up for another viewing of the best hair match-up in all of UFC:  Bendo vs Guida 2.  Guida's performance vs. Bendo was impressive and still stands out in my memory.  I wish for a KNOCKOUT but a straight win will make me just as happy!

UFC147
First, I'd like to say that:  Really? This is a PPV Main Card?  Really?  If These fighters are so worthy for a PPV event, then wouldn't it be safe to say that they deserve to have the picture up for the promo on the UFC site??  Case in hand:

Poor, Vieira and Dias ... fighters with no face.
Wanderlei Silva/Rich Franklin ... Like I said... I WANT TO SEE A KNOCKOUT!! I feel the only way for that to happen is if that KO was delivered by Wanderlei.  In this case, that seems to be the likely scenario.  I'd like Wanderlei to KO Franklin in the first round.

Vegas this summer.  For sure.
