YOUTUBE Q&A Long overdue ...

mannymetal: trinidy do you have instagram?

nope. i can't get addicted to another thing! i've chosen twitter and youtube as my medium.
792bnz: ok?!?! just out of curiousity; you're not a fan of anderson silva and you're not a fan of jon jones. what fighter do you like?
What I mean when I say "I'm not a fan" is strictly just that - I am not a fan. I don't get excited for their upcoming fights. I don't enjoy watching their fights to where I would pay to see them LIVE. And I wouldn't waste my money to travel and see a UFC main event unless the fighter was fighting someone that I would spend my money on.  This holds true to other fighters, not just Silva or Jones.
It's like a record you play over and over and over again ... you love the song the first few times .. maybe even a few years.. but then it just gets old.  However - something magical can happen and you'll run into the record years later and will love it once again.
After Jones submitted Vitor.. I could't help but be impressed with that win.  Vitor gave him a great challenge and Jones definitely rose to the occasion.
As for some of the fighters (new and old) I do like - or 'am a fan of..' - that I would pay to watch at a UFC event are in no particular order:  Junior Dos Santos, Shogun Rua, Forrest Griffin, Josh Koshcheck, Dan Henderson, Michael Bisping, Rich Franklin, Cain Velasquez, Vitor Belfort, Rampage Jackson, Wanderlei Silva, Dan Hardy, Kyle Noke, Rory MacDonald, Clay Guida, Dominick Cruz, Urijah Faber, Scott Jorgensen, ... ummm that's all I can think of right now.  hmm... oh and maybe add in Fedor Emelianenko.
television is killing my braincells ...
or perhaps it's this computer?  I find myself staring at illuminated screens constantly throughout the day.    This has got to be bad for my eyes.  Considering I'm halfway to blind, it would be wise for me to start saving my poor eyes from reaching their inevitable future far sooner than need be.  Besides, television is not teaching me anything.  Primetime is definitely not educating me.  So I should start reading.  give these braincells of mine something to absorb.  I go to the library....

The librarian asks "What was the last book you read?"
I reply, "Do magazines count?"

still haven't picked up a good read ... any suggestions?  and please don't say Fifty Shades of Grey. Bore.

#UFC152 - Jones still champ.. what else is new??

Kyle Noke KO's Charlie Brenneman

... in the first minute of the first round.  The stoppage: debatable.  Nevertheless Kyle Noke wins, and that keeps me happy!

Michael Bisping defeats Brian Stann

... will he now get a shot at Anderson Silva?  Maybe after Stephan Bonnar.  Either way, Bisping will probably have a shot at Silva but whether its for the middleweight championship would have to depend if Silva beats Bonnar in October.  If Bonnar miraculously hails victor over Silva, should Bisping have a shot at him or should Silva get a rematch?  But until then, who should Bisping go up against next...

Demetrious 'Mighty Mouse' Johnson: FLYWEIGHT CHAMP

... I gave Johnson the 3rd, 4th, and 5th rounds.  The fight seemed so close until they showed the stats on the screen.  I told them, I says " If Johnson makes it to the championship rounds still fresh and focus,  he's got the decision win.."  Wonder how he feels being the first title holder?

Jon 'Bones' Jones vs. Vitor 'the Phenom' Belfort

... and so it may be hearsay that Vitor 'didn't want to break his arm' when he had him in submission. The fighter Vitor is, I can accept that its possible he didn't want to end ruin the career of Jones.  COME ON!!  Jon Jones is not going to knocked out or beat by decision. Submission was the perfect move VITOR!!! Pop that arm! Pop pop POP -- just like Ronda Rousey did Meisha Tate!

BAM!

sidenote: 5 more days until my birthday month!!  xoxo

@trinidypicks: Dan Henderson vs. Jon Jones; #UFC151

Sept 1, 2011 - Dan Henderson vs. Jon Jones

After tomorrow's UFC150, we will have to wait almost a three weeks for our next mma fix. It will most likely be the first card I won't be able to watch as I will be basking in the sun out in the ocean somewhere; I pray for sunshine!

Unfortunately the main event is one that I yearn to watch LIVE.  By live, I mean .. IN PERSON! Why? because.....

Dan Henderson... mr. Hendo - NO, NOT BENDO! (that copycat!) - HENDO!

Mention this guy to me against anyone and who do I pick?  Obvious?!!!

I can't believe that this fight is going down when I'm away. What's worst is that I'm not even 'away' to go watch the event!  I started watching Hendo during his pride days and he's one fighter I will never go against.

By far my most FAVOURITE, MEMORABLE, PROUDEST MOMENT was when he defeated Fedor Emelianenko in 2011.  I loved it! I have a picture of my TV screen of him on top of the cage with his hands raised.  Beautiful.

... and now, I won't be able to see this fight?!  Such. Bad. Luck.

So I'm putting it out there... I want HENDO TO WIN.  To beat Jones in outstanding fashion -via Knockout.

I could see it now, Jones is clinging onto the belt now like never before.  "Hendo beat Fedor.  Can I beat Fedor?  this isn't looking to good... uh-oh..."

Hendo is looking at this like.... "Finally my chance to raise what's rightfully mine.. UFC GOLD!"

It was unfortunate that Hendo had both his Pride championships unified into the UFC and ended up handing victories to Anderson Silva and Rampage Jackson.  But now is the time.  He beat Fedor Emelianenko for goodness sake!  The Last freaking EMPEROR!!!!!

LOL .. okay now I'm getting all worked up!  Let's hope that Hendo gets a KO - shall we?  I know I will.

:)

"Kobe Bryant said WHAT?!?" #michaelvskobe

Headlining News:

A question for the ages:

Michael Jordan vs. Kobe Bryant.  really? REALLY?

and the challenger.  Bryant. 13th pick round one. Pro-Career: 1996-present (16 years)
KOBE BRYAN'T'S STATS

and the reigning champion. JORDAN. 3rd pick round one. Pro-Career: 1984 - 2003 (19 years)

MICHAEL JORDAN'S STATS

A little room for discussion?

So Jordan played pro basketball for a total of 19 years.  Bryant is currently at 16.  Which then results in the fact that in 3 years time, Bryant will never surpass the Jordan's career achievements.  Albeit there are some highlights that Bryant has a chance at.  But, the overall success that Jordan has reached throughout his entire career is something that Bryant will be unable to compete with.

BESIDES... JORDAN ALSO PLAYED MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL FOR BIRMINGHAM BARONS - aff(il) Chicago White Sox - while on his first retirement run.  How awesome is he?
